How do I make my 2v breathe like a 4v?

So, I drove my father-in-law's 2003 Mach 1 yesterday, and I have to say that 4v motor is amazing. It just loves to rev and the throttle response is incredible! It makes my 2v feel like a pushrod motor with lazy valve springs. :(

So, is there a cost effective way to make my 2v have that kind of breathing? I was considering a centrifugal supercharger, but now I'm considering trading it in for 0% financing on an '04 Mach. Any suggestions?

P&P heads and valve job will do it. T&J get some nice NA power with heads and cams.

A blower will make you happier than the trade in will.

How so? Power will be a little better than the Mach, but I'll still have the crappy GT interior.

How expensive is a good P&P and valve job? If I'm not mistaken, it's about $1K to do new cams (installed) on the SOHC, right?

you will never get a 2V to flow as well as a 4V. but P&P can get you somewhat close. cams are $500 and the heads are around $1200 and up. i can't tell you how much install is.

Get a blower or get a mach, you are going to spend a lot on doing P&P, New Heads, Cams, blah blah and not have the feeling of the 4v, and not close to the power of a blower and you will be spending close to the same.

get a vortec. since u like how the 4v's feel, then im assuming that you like how they pull hard up top till redline. (6800 or about). a vortec will build more hp as the rpms increase (much like the 4v's), and you will have much more horsepower. (upwards of about 380-400), plus you will smoke mach 1's. Then, if you really feel the urge, switch out your seats for mach1 or bullitt seats. the only other interior difference is the guages. besides that the interiors are basically the same.
