this thing has been on my car since i bought it. Its one of those dealer "tags", and i wanna take it off and put a 5.0 emblem there or something like that. Is there a way to take it off without hurting the paint on my car???

it cant be on there any better then my 10 year old factory pin striping was..

I just used my fingernail and slowly scratched/peeled it away, then used some goo gone type stuff i believe, and then just waxed the area clean afterwards.

Somthing else you could do..
If the sticker is real old and birttle you might try softening it up some, with a few dabs of laquer thinner on a rag..whipe it on the sticker a few times, let sit, then whipe agian and try to peel it away with your fingernail, or finger.. Neither are hard enough to get close to harming the hardass clear coat on your car.

Just peel off as much as you can with your fingernails and then get some rubbing alcohol to take off the glue and whatever is left.

When I bought my car it had 2 little American flags over the "Mustang GT" emblems on the side, so we peeled them off and the alcohol took everything off in 2 seconds. Didn't hurt my paint either.

BTW Rubbing alcohol is the same thing that comes with those dent pullers to remove the glue they get on your car when you use them.

Even if you get it off... 10 years out in the sun will leave an image left in your paint where the sticker was because light couldnt fade that area, but everything else around it it could. How do I know this... When I bought my car I could clearly see where the sticker was on the trunk and read what it said.

When I did mine, I peeled it off with my fingernail, then used my finger tip and some rubbing alcohol and "rolled" off the rest of the glue.

After that I washed the car, then clay barred it, then washed it, waxed and buffed... Unless you look at it from like a 5 degree angle directly in the sun then you can't tell there was anything there.

well i took the stickers off, i used a hair dryer to heat them al ittle, and they pealed right off. I used some citrus cleaner to get the remaining glue, and the best part is, you cant really tell it was there, no fading, but next time i wash it i'll scrub that part. Thanks for the help guys!
