How do they come off?

I want to put the older Halo head rests on...So i wanted to take mine off and they dont want to come off they lift up but they wouldnt come off..is there a trick to it or im i doing something wrong?....

Its kind of hard to explain because you wont be able to see anything; put the headrest in the up position, unzip the seat back at the bottom and you have to feel for a metal clip you need to pry with a screwdriver or something that will let you free the old headrest. You'll have to put your arm about halfway up the seat to where you think the retainer clip is. If you stick you arm up the seat and pull the headrest up and down with your other arm you can feel for the motion inside of the seat and find the base of the headrest and the clip.

You'll need to remove (or modify) the black trim peice thats on top of the seat where the headrest goes in. I took mine out; the bar for the halos is wider than the stock one.

Thanks...by any chance do you have pictures of your seats with the Halo's i think they would look cool on these seats...Plus in a convertible when the top is down it will look alot better then the little head rests thats in there now...lol

It's not a vert, but halos>stock any day of the week. The grey headrest matches the cloth part of the seat nicely, thats why I havent bothered to paint them; and I'm afraid they'll peel if I do.

Very nice i love that look...Yeah im going to have to dye mine with the vinyl paint Black...i think it would look so much better....

Here are mine




I know have 99-04 dark charcoal leather seats in, so i want to get the halos covered in dark charcoal leather to match those seats


EDIT: Pic doesn't work guess i'll have to upload later
