How do different company x-pipes differ in sound? Aren't they really all the same when you think about it? I mean they are all steel in a form of an x. How are the different sounds created?

Due to differences in exhaust flow & perfromance from 1 bank of your engine to your other, a crossover from one exhaust pipe to the other acutally helps performance. Sometimes one port pushes out less exhaust gases than the other port & a crossover really early in the flow helps even things out, increasing performance.CottonBurnerz said:come to think of it. Correct. Basically all an H-pipe does is connect 2 otherwise parallel pipes perpendicularly. An x-pipe actually does a way better job of angling the 2 otherwise parallel pipes to a junction, increasing flow & performance.CottonBurnerz said:So the idea is to balance the amount of exhaust coming out.. now I can imagine how X-pipe can perform better than H..
