How do you add a picture into your post?

Well crap I still can't do it.
What steps do I need to do exactly, in steps, to get my picture to be inserted?
So far I have some pictures being hosted. Then I open one of the pictures through to host so the only thing on the screen was the picture. Then I copied the address. I then went back to the stangnet page, clicked reply and typed some text, clicked the insert image button, and then I pasted the address I previously copied into the little window that opened, I then clicked ok, and the address was placed into the post with some IMG things on both sides of the address. Once that was done I clicked ok and all I got was crapola.
I'm confused, what did I do wrong?

It sounds like you've done everything correctly, so I'm wondering if something else might be the issue. I copied the url of your image, and that works well enough: http://image38.webshots.com/38/9/54/14/319695414JndasK_fs.jpg

I visited webshots website to see if they allowed remote linking, and I couldn't find anything among the documentation that I could find. So you should find out whether webshots allows remote linking.

One other thing, your original image is pretty darn big (over 33" by 21"), so I'd suggest resizing it before posting it again. Remember, actual inch measurements is what you use to decide how big the image will appear, but the number of pixels per inch determines the amount of detail and how big the image is for download. Typically, if you're reducing an image for posting in a thread, try to size the image to less than 8" by 8" and keep the pixels per inch below 150.

As I mentioned before, I've been using Imageshack without any problems. As a matter of fact, here is your image resized to 6" by 3.9", hosted by Imageshack:

Imageshack will give you this type of set up. Keep the pics under 600 pix wide.

Yeah, Imageshack is nice because it gives you several already code-formatted versions such as the thumbnail above, or direct link like I used, and a bunch of others. I should probably start using the thumbnail thing more often, which would make threads with pics quicker to download (especially for poor 56k dial-up users).

hey cool! It looks like the only mistake I made was having an extra at the begining and at the end.
Let's see if I can do it again with a thumbnail and no extra crap.
