How do you know if you need new shocks?

I am use to driving a Jeep Wrangler so I am use to getting tossed around but my 96 Cobra seems like it is really ruff when driving. It has 80000miles on it. When did ya'll replace your shocks? Thanks

Yeah, its probably about time for shocks. Best way to tell is when you hit a bump and car hops around. So far, my shocks on both my Cobras have held up. Althought the 93 have only 40K mi and the 97 has 22K.
