how do you remove the air silencer?

Get a Sawzall and just chop that puppy off...! :rlaugh:

I'm just kidding!!!! :SNSign:

Seriously, remove the airbox like you are replacing the filter and then pull the rubber piece off and reinstall your air box. (What... 1 screw...?)

Im not really sure why its called an air silencer. I took mine out on every Mustang Ive owned and noticed absolutely no differences whatsoever.

FREEBIE!!!!!!!!!!!! [/MonsterGarage]

It actually does quiets and slows down the rush of incoming air a bit. You probably won't notice it if you have an exhaust system or other mods. But when I took mine off, I could actually hear the difference. I think i read somewhere that Ford had to put the silencer on there to pass some kind of sound decibel test that it has to pass administered by Big Brother...:notnice:

WEIGHT REDUCTION!

Hey, every little bit counts, right?

I do anything and everything to my car I can, with and without money. I've done just about every freemod to my car I could, like the speed sensitive volume, recline mod, legroom mod, IAC mod, etc. It's just the 'working on your car' aspect I like of them. That, and the cost.

removing the air silencer wont do sh1t for your car man. A CAI won't do much either. Buy some gears or something..

Then why in your Mod list, the first thing under it is K&N FIPK???
The guy knows you want get the HP effect if you put in gears or throw on a SC, but every little bit counts. It's all about unrestricting your breathing system. Tests have shown that removing the air silencer and installing a K&N frees up a few HP. Of course it's probably not a SOTP feel like you would get from installing a 4.10 gear, but what the hell.

If I don't get the KB supercharger, i'll probably get the JLT CAI. It's probably the best CAI on the market. I guarantee you'll see a HP difference by using that CAI....:nice:
