How Do You Remove The Speedo Cable

I was just outside taking my dash apart and got to the speedo cable with the white piece on it....how do you disconnect it? I just don't want to break it. Thanks.

Just push down on the flat plastic part and it will release the collar from the housing.

Man I love this website! I was looking through my Haynes manual and couldnt find anything. I just didnt want to break it. Thanks. for the help!

This topic seems to pop up once a yr or so, and no one had a clear cut way of explaining how to release the cable from the housing is the reason I took the pics. Glad I was able to help!

Ive got the cable unhooked and the gauge cluster in the passenger seat. Thanks for the help. Now I just need to figure out which wires in the harnesses hook to each gauge so I can tap into them and install aftermarket gauges!

Hi Guys new here and cant seem to view the attachments below.....I am trying to remove my speedo cable on my 69 ...any help appreciated

@l30bar this is an old thread, there is a date/time stamp in the upper left corner of each post, also this is the fox forums, 79-93 stuff, we'll just tell you to take a hack saw to it
