Paint and Body How does my cowl look

Took the cowl grille off for the first time to check for any rust and it looks pretty clean to me. Does anyone notice anything to be of concern? Also should I bother coating this area with some sort of rust preventer?

I would just leave it alone.....or scuff the area with a 3M scotchbrite pad and hit with some satin black. But really, who's gonna shine a light down through your cowl grill to see if you detailed that hidden area? Looks really clean and there's a factory coating on the metal already.

Well I'd shoot some rust converter like Ospho down in them corners and around the fresh air hat, looks like some rust has started back there. Could get in there good through the hood hinge holes.

Do you have to put some sort of paint on top of those sprays or can you just spray it and forget it? Also what is that fresh air hat for I was curious about that

Vent and normal ac on hvac dial brings outside air through it, max ac recirculates cabin air.

I used a red scotch brite pad and cleaned some light surface rust in there when I painted my car a few years back and painted it a satin black.
