I'm currently in a 2005 V-6, 5-spd and I'm looking at the 99-04's 5-spd. Besides the paper data, how do they compare? Driving, handling, breaking and just general SOTP feel. The 05 is my third stang previously having a 86GT auto and 97GT 5-spd. I've done searchs but didn't come up with anything. Thanks

I wish I could keep the '05 but due to my recent situation (new baby and a pay cut) I can't afford it. I need to cut my payments in half or all together. Also in my area and probably every area, there are alot of small dealerships that won't deal with me cause of the negative equity and they have cars that are in my price range. The big dealerships will work with me but they have more expensive cars and that defeats the purpose of getting rid of the car in the first place. There are some nice stangs in private sales but again I don't have the money and no one is buying my car. I've found a '01 V-6 that fits my budget and I wanted to know if I'll be totally disappointed or not. Since '98 I vowed to ALWAYS have a mustang and I will.

The '05 will definitely give you a better ride with its coil springs.

But I would think that getting a 2001 won't mean the difference between night and day as far as ride comfort. If you wanted perfect ride comfort you would get a cadillac, right? :-p
