I can't get the friggin horn part off to get at the big nut!!

Feel like an idiot ... :)

It's quite alright, I felt like one too when I first took mine off last year...

Here's how to do it:

You don't actually have to remove the big horn pad, you can keep it attached to the three pronged metal trim ring. Disconnect the battery first of all and then push down on the three pronged metal horn trim piece until it's completely flat against the plastic base of the steering wheel. Then using your fingers, twist the entire assembly to the left. Here's a pic showing the holes in the plastic wheel that secure it to give you an idea as to how it's attached.

I also attached a pic of the backside of that center piece....

Once off, unscrew that nut and LEAN BACK so as not to knock out your teeth... pull straight off a couple of times and if that doesn't work I found that tapping lightly on the actual pole that the nut was on actually loosens it up. If not, tap lightly on the BACK of the wheel at the base. It should come off... worst case, go buy the puller.

If you think that's hard, try installing the Lecarra wheel...

Good luck, anything else let me know,
-Tim
