maybe 01-04 autos put down 230 to the ground , stock but 99-00 typically have somewhere between 215-225 rwhp. 225 is still generous.

I thought 230 sounded a little high.

I have found the ambient air temp plays a significant role in dyno results.

Wow, now there is something we never heard before.

I don't use a C&L MAF, I use a C&L MAF housing.

C&L ONLY makes one of these products - call it a MAF or call it a MAF housing, we are talking about the same thing and you know that fact.

Using an aftermarket MAF housing with stock sample tubes and a complete aftermarket MAF with totally different sample tubes makes far more difference than "splitting hairs" when it comes to tuning.

Sample tubes? Tell me, what sample tube are you using? Do you even know what a sample tube is? Sample tubes are integrated into the MAF (electronics, not the housing) on 02+ Mustangs. Regardless, different size sample tubes are for different size injectors - nothing more, nothing less. Sounds like you need to spend a bit more time educating yourself.
Look, my opinion is just that - my opinion. Apparently, you've been able to tune around the C&L MAF. Was it worth it? The OEM MAF is good up until about 400HP and is not restrictive.
I CAN install my C&L MAF on my 02 and have my SCT chip retuned....but most tuners advise against it. As stated, it essentially requires tuning around it.

i had the size wrong because i have a 96. i was not aware that the size had been changed. I dont research vehicles i don't own. The facts in the article i linked are none the less valid. your dyno pic showed fluctuations that the article explained exactly.

Tell us some more things we didn't already know.

You can have your SCT chip retuned; so what? That doesn't show anything about how much or how little you know about tuning yourself. I decided to go toward street tuning myself, but obviously that is not something everyone could or would want to try.

I'm not sure whether you were talking only about the C&L here or not, but just to be clear, to my knowledge C&L is the only MAF that changes the sample tube to adjust for injectors. Other Aftermarket MAF's adjust the voltage curve in the MAF, and OEM MAF's do not adjust for injector size. The proper way to correct for injector size is in the EEC
