GNAC edition? Never heard such a thing...But stock SS camaro's are good for low to mid 13's. So if he has a few bolt-ons it would easily run high 12s.

Depends on year really...LS1? 98-02s are darn fast stock. High 12s on good tires.

Id say mid 13's with an average driver on street tires, & low 13's with a good driver on street tires...With some drag radials they are easily in the high 12's bone stock.....

Dont matter haw fast they are, they still look like catfish!!!!

he'd need to accidentally shift into reverse instead of 1st gear somehow. But that's not to say your car can't be made to be faster.

Would you happen to know what year the car is? Never hear of the gnac edition. The only edition made through GM I know of is the SS which was made by SLP. The SS/SLP edition added wider wheels and tires, styling and suspension mods and a functional hood scoop. I think there was a different exhaust as well but not sure.

I know at one time in 2000 I was looking into a Grand Prix GTX which was a GTP that went to SLP for some goodies, it would have included the same mods as a Camaro SS but I know for sure it included a stainless steel exhaust, not sure bout the catfish SS but I would assume the same.

just depends on mods,

bolt on ls1's routinely go low 12's to high 11's at 114-118 with no headwork, granted not on street tires, but they are quick.

Christ! Not another one of these threads.

Yes the LS1 makes more power stock for stock against a pre 03 Cobra. It will make more hp bolt on verse bolt on against a pre 03 cobra. 500 rwhp NA is doable with these motors. Step up to a 408/422/427 LS1 and it gets nastier.

ss special edition or not he is going to destroy you pretty much.i hate camaros but you dont have a great chance especially being a non pi aut vert,u got a lot going against you.even a pi 5spd coupe isnt going to do much better.my friend had an ss demo car right off the lot auto, ran 13.1. if it was a stick car with some drag radials easily 12s without a doubt.

http://www.gmmginc.net/ is what you are talking about. They build cars from the factory. They have different packages available. ANywhere from a few boltons to 600+ hp na cars. THey have a booth at the All GM Nationals at Carlise every year. So his could be a base one with just a few bolt ons, if so with the auto, there is a good chance it will run 12's, alot of bolt on auto ls1's will run 12's with ease

My boss had a 02 SS that he thought was the god of cars, until i got my 03 Cobra. a month later he upgraded to a nonZO6 C5 Vette and thought that had a chance, not really though.
