I have a fully balanced motor consisting of stock crank turned(.10), rods, and new forged pistons. the rods have arp hardware, and I am going to add a girdle this winter. I have roller rockers, aftermarket cam, ported p heads, ported intake etc. The car pulls hard past 6k, and I have the tweecer hardware so I can disable my rev limit. also, I am running nitrous on it. I have been hitting it with a 100shot, but I am going to step it up to 200. Right now my window switch is putting it on for 3000 to 6000 rpm. Can I shoot higher??
I have a buddy that spun his completely stock 5.0 to 7000rpm, but the stock rockers flew apart. What am i capable of with my combo???
Thanks.
Ted

A dyno will really tell you how high you can spin your short block. Without knowing the details on everything from the block type to cam and specifics on rods, I cannot really help you.

I wouldn't be afraid to go to 7000rpm with that short block, but with the small cam, I don't think you'll need much more than 6000rpm.

I would seriously talk to the person who built the engine. Not folks online. But yes with a small cam like stated you don't need to go that high. I wouldn't go over 6k with the stock block anyway if you want it to last long, but that is just me. The main girdle isn't going to strengthen the block. All they do is keep it together if the block cracks down the middle so you can reuse some of your internals.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
