its defineitly helpfull to have buddys there to pick up the wrenches you throw because you are so frustrated. no seriously did mine this past weekend its not something i would want to do everyday but be patient and make sure bolts are started correctly before cranking on them. also it was tough to get the top starter bolt back in with lts on so beware of this. i was so happy when i was done with install definietly tough because of the tight spaces. i did mine with k-member still in the car which im sure made it even more difficult but i was in no hurry and took my time i made sure to have everything right and it took me a total of about 8 hours but if you drop the k-member you might have better luck. make sure you mark the steering shaft and position it before setting the motor back down. gear wrenches would defineitly be benificial also. i hope i helped you install if you have anymore questions i be more than happy to help.

thxs for the response but as for the parts should i stay with bbk for both the lt and the h and/or x-piping

or is it ok to mis match parts like going with the dr gass x pipe and the bbk headers

i just want to make sure i dont get the droning i cant even here the radio sound or the popping sound from the motor slowing down when i get off the gas

I would stick with BBK. Use an X-pipe and not an H-pipe. I have had both on the same car and the X-pipe definitely produces less drone. Regarding installation, I had to reroute my dipstick (now useless - except as a whip-flail) and the sensor wires were too short. They (BBK) now have an extension kit for the wires.

Anyone do this on a 96-98 cobra? How long did it take you and is it harder that doing in on a GT because the heads are bigger?

stay bbk

my h-pipe fit awesome. i would stay with bbk. yea you defineitly wanna not have a few beers doin this my buddy stopped over and got bombed handing me wrenches but im glad i didnt. another buddy of mine has a 97 cobra and did his with the k-member in the car and i think he said his wasnt that bad either i know he had to kinda rotate the motor a little but still thats not hard to do just set a 2x4 under one of the motor mounts and lower the motor so that it tips to one side. i didnt have to do this. also i put ultra copper gasket sealant on the gaskets before installing. hoping to totally eliminate any leaks. i talked to someone at bbk and they said thats fine but they had not had any complaints about leaks with there gaskets.

I can definitely see that happening! We have gotten into those moods with my projects but we got 'em done.
