Good, I'm not alone. What made me mad was that people were getting pissed at me after it happened. It was bound to happen sooner or later (I just sped it up).

the brunt of all jokes.....

I run our Clubs open lapping day event, at Mosport in Ontario Canada. It's very similar to a Watkins Glen type road course.
I also run my car at this same event, a 70 Mach1 351C 4V 4spd car.
1st year I had 2 tire belts shift on lap 8... done for the day!
2nd year I broke a pushrod on 2nd session lap 5... done for the day!
3rd eyar the clutch actuator rod bent (read no clutch)... used a spare tire hold down rod from a 66 GT350 and cut it and ground it to fit and finished the day, though not quite so agressively..... almost done for the day (it was bent again by the time I got the car home.
4th year...... NOTHING BROKE..... and I'm retiring the car from racing (ie. quit while I'm ahaead !)

While at the track I pushed the car VERY hard... balls to the wall, let her all hang-out, with the limiting factor being my tires (BFG T/A 245/60-14's), which chunked a bit but still in use for the street. Once you get confidence in the car and know how far you can take it, it's hard not to take it there 100% of the time !
But it's the most fun you can possibly have with all your clothes on !!!!!!!!
