how hard is it to install springs?

looking to get some within the next month, but are they easy to install, i did the search but couldnt come up with an answer specifically, also what springs do you reccomend?. and in the future i want to get some dd bullits with some wide tires so will lowering affect that?:SNSign:

Go with H&R super sports, because they have the best compromise between a low stance, & decent ride quality & handling. They lower 94-04 Stangs about 1.8 front & 1.6 rear. You need more than just the springs to do it right though. Caster/camber plates, & performance shocks & struts are also a must, or else you wont be able to get the right alignment & the stock shocks & struts will make it a bouncy ride.

As far as installing the springs, its not very hard if you have the right tools & know the basics about Mustangs already.

If you are mechanically inclined at all, then they are pretty easy to install. If you follow the link, it shows exactly what to do. http://www.stangnet.com/tech/spring.html I would recommend having two jacks and 4 jackstands and a friend to help with lowering and raising the control arms.

I used the Ford Racing "C" springs and they gave me a full 1 1/2" drop at all four corners. They are pretty reasonable price wise too. I gave $140 shipped for mine from www.americanmuscle.com. As far as the tire clearance issue, I can't really help you with that. I run a 17 x 9 Cobra R with a 275/40/17 tire and there is plenty of room for more tire.

i can do a set in about 1 hour with hand tools. i have eibach sportlines and i like the drop they give me.

what springs are you looking at?

The Sportlines do give u a killer lookin drop, but I have heard too many bad things about them, thats why I went with the H&R's. I liked them, but the drop wasnt enough, thats why I eventually went with coilovers in front, & I'lll be doing the rear soon too.

Theres not many 4 valve engine mods that give u a good bang for the buck besides the big stuff like blowers, heads, & cams, so i decided to do suspension 1st. Everytime I think Im done with my suspension setup, I find something else I need. Next up is subframes & rear coil overs. Then I want the torque arm setup. Then after that, Ill think about finally tryin to get my blower. But i do want the tubular k member & a arms too.

Im sorry, none of this has to do with springs anymore, but i figured your ??? was answered.

On the topic...how hard is it to install LCAs while you're already putting in struts/shocks, springs, and CC plates at the same time?

I've already got the springs & CC plates, but the bar is kinda got me at a stand-still with money. It is costing a lot more (around $600 so far) than I thought it would to build this bar!

Well since your LCA's will probably be disconnected from the axle anyway, it will only require removing the bolt connecting the LCA's to the chassis. Its a breeze, & I highly recommend changing to the MM lca's. Its probably been one of my best mods. The only thing that will be a pain is that the mufflers kinda get in the way of the bolts, so u will have to unbolt the Catback & let it hang down.
