How hot are the surface temps of your headers?

just got me a fancy infrared laser thermometer. I am running Hooker equal length shorties, and they get up to 700-730. wondering if this is an issue since my plug wires are rated to 600

I'd keep an eye as I've worked on some cars that the wires were burned right through the insulation

is that hotter than normal, or did I buy too cheap a wire?

Um..... I think you should just not let your wires touch your headers.

I had a msd wire laying on a header for a few years before it started being a problem. Buy a set of looms and pull it off there and not worry about it.
