Mine is weird, its like it wont really grab unless its pulled ALL THE WAY UP, i have to use FORCE to get it to actually grab.

Anyway i can adjust it??

Also, where do i go to get my A/C charged?

When i had drums, i could lock up my wheels while driving at any speed with a good yank up.

I don't have an e-brake yet with the rear disks :(

My '03's e-brake will hold the car on the steepest of slopes, but i can't lock up the wheels if i yank it while moving. Weird.

1. Check that the rear shoes are good.
2. Check for axel and wheel cylinder leaks
3. Check for proper setup of the rear drum configuration.
4. Check for proper adjustment of the rear brake system.
5. Check for a streched cable.

6. I belive there is an adjustment, never bothered with it on a fox because mine have always worked well.

You're really not going to like this after your shifter cable drama, but...

On a fox there is no adjustment. The cables stretch and then the e-brake doesn't hold. The solution is to replace the cable.

same with my stang. the ebrake has its attitudes, i just leave her in gear with the ebrake, but when i leave it running in neutral i have to 2 hand yank it. and with the AC, foxes have r-12 in it, so its really really expensive to charge it, you have to have your system flushed out and add some fittings to the top of your compresser and replace it all with r-134a. my friends dad owns a shop and i got it done for 25 bucks, but he took the cost of the freeon itself, which was like 83 dollars or something, and the 25 i paid was just in general labor. hope i helped.

Yeah my shifter cable thing sucks, the way i have it now, i cant actually get the tranny ALL the way into park, so if i dont put the ebrake on, the car will roll back in the driveway, but its halfway in so it will start grinding. So i have to make sure its there.

But i bring this ebrake thing up b/c i was changing rotors today and when i put the wheels back and and started tightening them the damn car started rolling, and i thought i had the ebrake on. kinda pissed me off.

I don't know about the '91 but my older Fox had a nut near the pivot of the hand brake. I adjusted it until I couldn't move the car on the 3rd click. You may need to remove the center console or at least some of it.

Yeah my ebrake doesn't work for anything:notnice:

I have to pull it all the way up where it bottoms out (but up) and just begins to grab it. I'm sure I could push the car with the ebrake "on":bang:

I hate it...
