How long are hoodpin lanyards for '65-'66?

I found a place that sells 24" hoodpin lanyards here.

Is this the correct length of the cables originally found on '65 shelby r models?

If not, what is?
this is a good question! I have looked very closely at Tom Corcorons book and can see the lanyards connect to the hood pin bracket through grille. But I also went to the shelby museum and seen the lanyards come out below the grille mounting panel and then up... You would use all of the lanyard there. I am unclear of the absolute answer but have seen it done both ways so I would either shorten them and go through the grille or go under the grille mounting panel then up to hood without having to shorten them. Each one I believe is going to be correct.

Yeah, exactly. But also, i was wondering if 24" was the length that people used on their cars when it goes through the bottom of the grill.

Where would you connect the end when you use one that long?

Here's a 24" lanyard. Goes thru the bottom of the grill and loops up behind. Attaches where the top of the grille bolts onto the headlight bucket assembly.

Thanks Bob. I went to your site a few days ago trying to find some pics of where the lanyards were attached to. You maintain a great site. I've used it as a reference for my buildup for over a year. :nice:
