i just got my car out today and and was wondering how long i have to get insurance. being that it is a weekend will i be allright or am i supposed to wait another 2 days.(thats a long time)

NO INSURANCE = NO DRIVE!!!

think of it this way: if you get into an accident and seriously hurt someone, but you wait until monday to get insurance, then YOU ARE PERSONALLY held responsible for the accident. you would not have had covverage in effect at the time of loss, and insurance WILL NOT pay for the accident.

i know, we are all the BEST drivers and never cause accidents

what about the UNINSURED DRIVERS that hit you? that is what you will be without insurance.

Under no circumstances in any of the 50 states can you drive a vehicle without insurance. This is often confused with another issue, ie....when buying a vehicle you have ten days, most states, to get it inspected/registered but you MUST have the "Bill of sale" with you.

Once I bought a car and kept the bill of sale with me for like 4 mos, driving in another state than mine, and I never put a date on it, so if I got pulled over I could quick put a date on it lol. Never did get pulled over, but still, bad advice.

Anyways like the guy above said, and here above, no way man. :nono:

While having insurance is a good idea, you are wrong about having to have insurance in all 50 states. In WI you are not legally required to have car insurance. I happen to live on the borded of IL and WI, in IL they will bust you big for not having insurance but not in WI.
