I had to reset my battery because of an odd idle and I'm just curious how long before the OBDII monitors have rebooted/calibrated the monitors. Anyone have an idea?

I thought I read it would be a minute... if not seconds.

generally it's a couple of drive cycles....from start up to complete cool down, then start up to complete cool down again. Also do around 25 miles of driving, should fix you right up.

Of course Ive also read you dont need to DC battery... it will learn on its own in a short time.

The question is a little confusing, without knowing what the poster is refering to as obdii monitors. Disconnecting the battery will clear DTC codes and adaptive memory.

Once these are cleared, it takes several drive cycles to run all of the obdii emissions tests like cat efficiency. adaptive memory starts to store and apply values again as soon as the car goes back into closed loop.
