Anybody know how about many original production 1965 Mustangs are still in existence? Tried searching the web, but couldn't find a number. I'm sure there are many just sitting in a field, barn, or old garage (like the one I recently purchased) that haven't been registered in years.

I would actually like to know too. It would be cool to know how many original ones, how many restored ones, and how many barn/field cars are left.

I would also like to know how many of what years are left. I can say this much, there can't be all that high of a percentage of them left considering how many were made. I'd bet the total is somewhere near 25% of all Mustangs produced between '65-'73 are left today.

2.....buy them now.....lol

It seems to be an impossible task just based on what you guys have said.....non-registered, not licensed, parked in barns.....no way to get an accurate count.

Where did you get those numbers from? I would think the coupes would be alot more than that.

Sorry to mislead. They were pulled directly from my a$$. I don't think there is any real way to get any numbers other than a guess.
