How many amps does the stock alternator put out?

The GT put out 100 amps. The Cobra alternator is 130.

Now that I think of it, I think it was the Fox that was 100amp and the SN95 (all) were 130 amp. Yeah that's what it is!

SN94/95s are 130 amps. Now are you wanting to know what the amps are at idle. If so far less that 130. Peace

Yes, the SN's 3G alt is 130 amps. The foxes were 65 amper units, +/- 10 amps over the run of years. An SN cobra should have the same alternator as an SN GT.

The stock units are known for not putting out as many amps as they should, once they get old. So if you think you have 130 amps, you might not.

Cant help you with the Chrome versions (I think some folks have had issues with them, so that is the part I dont know about).
Otherwise, for instance I have a 170 unit in the fox and it works very well.

I put a 200 amp in mine - stock color. The company I got mine from (can't remember company's name off hand) has various colors (i.e. chrome, black, red etc.). I will get the name for you. But you will pay for colors and chrome. Also, I upgraded to a larger gauge alternator cable too. So count on spending about 30 more bucks. Peace

I have the pa-performance 130 alt. But it actually puts out 160 max. So it's a little bit better than the stocker and you don't have to increase the wire size, just bolt it in.

I got the alternator from PA Performance. Do a search on the net. Peace

i just had to put a new one on my car, and it was just an autozone replacement one. I tested it at my friends shop and at 2000 rpms it put out 157 amps.
