Used a new bearing install kit while they got the installation done?

How many just put the gears in, no install kit?

Im curious.

Also - What did you all pay for the install kits if you got them.

I bought FRPP 3.73's and the only other thing the installer recommended was a new pinion bearing. He said everything else should be OK since the car only had 3500 miles.

I replaced front and rear pinion bearings + races. Pinion Seal and axle seals. I had already replaced the other bearings(carrier, axle...etc) 6 months or so before so the best i can say is just get in there and look around...if you see some worn bearings replace them while your in there.

4.10's here!!!
I installed them with my Dad at his sop.
I used gear install kit #1 but also installed new outer and inner pinion bearings and races just for the hell of it.
Install kit at gefracing.com about $38?

Mine has 75K on it and it didn't realy need them, but I decided to have them replaced while he was in there anyway. Now I don't have to worry about it anymore. If you have less than 40-50k, most likely you don't need them.

I had the complete bearing replacement also except for the axle bearing since I had changed those myself a few months earlier. My guy I had install the gears didn't charge labor on the bearings since he was in there anyway so I just paid for parts.

Mine had about 10,000 miles on it when I put my FRPP 3.73's in. I didnt need anything extra other than the gears and the lube since everything else was in good shape .

on my last gt i installed 4.10's with about 70,000 mi on it & i had to use one of those kits. i've been fairly easy on my new one, so we'll see if i need it on this one with only 4,000mi on it, in a few weeks
