People place limits on the cast crank and I believe they do so without a lot of knowledge on it. I have yet to see a Cast crank fail where it was the crank that failed. The only cranks that I know that have failed where the crank was the culprit were the forged Cobra ones. People have pushed the cast cranks to over 800 RWHP and upto 8000 RPM without failures. If you are going to be reasonable with the power output, the cast crank will serve you well.
