How much can you see through a good Catalytic Converter?

Just pulled mine off and I can barely see a spec of light with a flashlight shining in it...don't want to bust it out if not neccessary....help

Bust it out. if the car is running right it will pass emissions without the cat. plus it is worth a few ponys

Busted it out, sounds MUCHHHHHHHHHHHHH throatier, just as I was tiring of the way it sounded. It is completely different now. I will update on the problems though, looks like I am burning oil and have low compression in cylinder #1

Did you loose power taking it out (or busting it out). Some guy with an 84 SVO told me the back pressure reduction made his turbo lag big time and made it slower. What do you think?

I think you talked to a total moron.

On a turbo car, it will react exactly opposite of what you are saying. N/A is a different story.
