I drive waaay too much. I'm just curious as to how much other people are driving. I reset my trip meter and driving time meter in my Jeep, and after one month I'm up to 2977 miles and just over 72 hours! I also had a couple hours in the stang and about 100 miles, so that easily puts me over 3000 for the month. August is usually my busiest month of the year with vacation and car shows going on. I would guess a normal month for me would be in the 1500-2000 mile range.

So, how much do you drive?

i go about 30 miles round trip commute, then probably another 100 miles per week schlepping the kids around, so that makes about 1000 miles per month.

I'm a 25mi round trip to work and back each day in the 'stang.

And a few WOT runs each evening polishing off the supercharger tune or giving friends thrill rides.

Probably about 10-20 miles a day depending on how often I need to to go the Industrial Design building which is like 3 miles from the dorms, and how many trips to Home Depot for supplies I have to make. Not to mention any weekend activities...so probably like 75-100 miles a week.

I put on roughly 20K/year on my focus and that is strictly used for work. We also put ~4000miles/year on my wife's Mr2, and ~11K miles on our family vehicle which is now a ford Edge. My wife only works 9 miles from home though...

I put 800-1000 miles a week on the company car, in 40-45 hours. When we're busy, it's as much as 1500/week, in about 50 hours. (I keep a mileage log, every day.) I work about 10 miles from my house. Plus, I put on about 150-200 miles every weekend doing the "regular stuff" that most people do.

So, I'd say that even if things are slow at work, I can easily see 4000 miles in a month. It can be as high as 6000 miles a month, though.

I live 25 miles from work. I work for a computer repair shop and most of our business is out of the office. Most of our accounts are local, within 20 miles, but we have a few as much as 70+ miles away. I usually drive between 350-600 miles a week, depending on how much work we have.

I generally keep track of my mileage, but I've never checked driving time before until last month. I can't believe I spent 3 full days driving.

I usually drive a 50 mile round trip to school on Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs. Then like a 6 mile round trip to work every day.

I dont ride around as much as I used to though. So thats good.

I just traded my Mazda3 in for my Jeep about 2 months ago...It had 36k on it after less than 2 years and I didn't even drive it for about 4 months this year. I'm about to hit 5k on the Jeep, which I bought July 21st.

The Stang only sees about 1000 miles a year now. I put 40k on it the first 2 years I had it, then about 10k the next year, and only a couple thousand since then. The last time I drove it to work I used over 1/2 tank of gas.

You guys with company vehicles are lucky. Do you have to pay for gas for them? I have to use my own vehicles for work, but they pay around 57 cents per mile.

24+/- miles to and from work, about 120 a week , about 480 a month. This is just during the summer when it's really hot and I don't feel like leaving my a/c. Now with the temps starting to back off I'm starting to drive a bit more.

I have a company gas card. They pay for ALL expenses, including the recent $2000 60k mile "preventative maintenance", at the dealership.

Funny thing is, they don't require me to keep mileage for the company. It would think they would get a NICE benefit from claiming THAT mileage at tax time.

480 miles a week for work for me, (12 hrs in the car). Usually another 80-120 miles on the weekend average doing running around with the family (we live in the boonies).

My wife drives about 300 miles a week. So our total is ~1000 miles/week average. We manage to put anywhere from 60-75k/miles on our cars a year.

At least you get some money for your mileage. I get nothing, other than the tax write off at the end of the year. That is the only thing I hate about my job. If I didn't have to pay for, insure, and maintain my own vehicle for work I sure as hell wouldn't be driving a focus right now everyday!

Shamus- what kind of sales do you do?

I was just reading this, again. I'd take $.57 a mile to drive my own vehicle. (If they set me up as a 1099 "employee".) Hex yeah!!!! $570.00 to go 1000 miles. ABSOLUTELY! That'd be an extra $25k a year, for me! I'd prolly buy a new one every two, or so, years. (It would have to be an SUV or minvan to do what I need it to do but, OK!) Plus, I'd take the tax benefit of buying a new car for business. (Or the mileage. Prolly wouldn't even pay taxes, that way. )

I drive about 60-65 miles round trip to work...it SUCKS. I transfered in May to a diff. dept. (ALOT more advancement) and it added about 15-20min extra drive time and about 10miles or so (one way). I drive around 20k a year give or take 3-5k, I am planning to drive the mustang more and not drive the DD on weekends soo much.

One thing is for sure...when we move in 2-3yrs we are moving AHELLOVA lot closer to my job. It sucks since the house I lived in with my rents' before college...less than 1mile from were I work... .
