my wife's transmission grinds when shifting up to 3rd...i was wondering if anyone knew how much it would cost to rebuild one, because looking in catalogs a brand new one cost iswell over $1000....
i rebuilt mine, bearings, synchros, rings, for around $380 after 3rd gear took a dive. but i did it myself and reused a cluster shaft from a world class and bought a new 3rd speed gear. not sure how long it will last this time. prolly do a g-force swap before track season in spring.
the d&d rebuild kit is $185 (syncroes, bearings, etc), but no gears. i think they said 1st gear was 90, 2nd 1xx, and 3rd another 90. hopefully you won't need any gears and just the rebuild kit. if you can take the tranny out yourself and take it to someone, labor shouldn't be that bad, i'd imagine.
