How much does it weigh?

Yeah I know I'm being lazy by not searching.... but anyways. How much did the 1967 Fastback (289/C4) weigh straight off the factory floor? No guesses...

Okay... I got off my butt and did some looking.... found out it's a big range. So I wrote down what looked to be about eight good estimates and averaged them out... the result was 3061lbs. I'm sure there are many more factors involved....

Yeh it's hard to find out for sure without weighing. When I looked for 69 SR weights, I found lots of differing info range ~ 800lb.

3000lb sounds like a good number for the smallblock without any options. Maybe even a little heavy.

While on the subject.... I wonder if anyone has itemized the weights of other components on our cars. I'd be curious to know how much I'm shaving when doing things. Like how much does the steel hood weigh? Front bumper... fold down rear seat, etc....

The lighter the better of course.....

I don't think you'll find a list like that on the net, you might, but I doubt it. There are engine weight lists, and it is a major component, so there's a start.

I found on this page:

that the 69 model was 150 - 175 lb increase over the previous model, and their weight range is 2980 - 3910. So 68/67 year range could be 2805 - 3760lb

This includes 6 cylinders as well, so 302 weight probably starts at around 2950 or 3000.

now i've heard fastbacks wiegh more than a coupe, what would a coupe wiegh?

I think that spread that I got was all models. Probably starts with 6 cylinder coupe and works up to big block FB/SR with the lot.

wow if my car weighs in at 2900 lbs. i would be ecstatic. my car is a 67 coupe, 289, auto and power steering.
