I conisdering buying a 99 or 00 GT what mods will I need to do to it to get it to run 13.5's without a power adder and on street tires. Also I will be doing lots of highway driving so the gears I would want would be 3.73 or even a 3.55. What are your thoughts?

that should put you in the 12's

with only a midpipe, pullies, gears and a timing adjuster you should be good for lower 13'swith excellent driving

Along with the 3.73 gears, make some minor modifications to the intake (K & N air filter, 70 mm tb/plenum) and to the exhaust (x-pipe). To improve traction, you may want to put on a lower control arm. That should put you into the mid-13's.

i wouldnt waste your money on the intake stuff to start or the suspension. on a bonestock suspension with decent street tires and excellent driving 1.8s are possible. the benefits of the midpipe, pullies/ta, gears greatly outweigh the gains of the intake junk

as far as gas mileage with 4.10s, its going to be so minimally different...go with the 4.10s

I went 13.68@102 with o/r X pipe, magnapack mufflers in stock catback, and 150 lbs removed. 2.0 60 ft. Added 4.10's, T/A, pulleys, and a shifter and went 13.43@104.7. Bolted on a set of ET Streets and went best time in sig with a 1.81 60 ft.

You also were using ET Drags instead of ET Streets. It's all in the 60 ft as you always tell me. My ET Street 1.81 vs your ET Drag 1.7? That's were the .075 advantage comes from. Plus, as I always say, I think your car makes more power than mine since you have a chip vs my T/A.

I guess you didn't go to the track tonight. me neither....had to mow the lawn and stuff. I'll probably go out next Wednesday or Friday. We'll have to hit Chili's or something afterwards if you go.

sounds sweet...btw i went 13.07 on et streets

but in your defense that was only a few passes on sticky tires, if you had some more it would go 12's

I have asked this before, but I never got to view the results.I would like to go with a Off road X, but will my engine light come on, and with the stock mufflers in would it be VERY loud, how about with magnaflows? I do NOT want the exhaust very loud, but I do want an increased flow...I doubt if it is as loud as my 66...it doesnt have cats LOL.Its not crazy loud or anything, but you can hear it cruzing down the road for a mile or two LOL, but I like it...sounds very good.

well 13's should be easily attainable with very minimal mods unless you are running in a place like denver or something. My 04' with a K&N filter and Hi-Flow Hpipe went 14.2 on the stock gatorbacks at 2500ft elevation (w/2.2 60ft).

So with a little better driving on my part and a good set of DR's I should be in the 13's with very minimal mods.

Get yourself an off-road X and a Flowmaster Force II catback. I'm running a Dr. Gas w/ that catback. Nice and quiet when taking it easy. Loud when you get on it. Should be similar with a stock catback, maybe a bit quieter. You'd be going from 2.5" to 2.25" though...

(I had Magnapacks w/ the Dr. Gas at first...way too damn loud to drive around w/out getting pulled over.)

Get some MIL Eliminators to get rid of the check engine light. You can make your own for $4.

You won't regret it. Sounds great and makes power.

Thanks for the info, thats exactly what I wanted to know.Thats probably what I will get now.Have a few more Qs though. How long do MIL Eliminators last.Is the Dr. gas X the best, with the biggest power gains or would maybe SLPs be better? Not sure how to make my own MIL Es.What kinda of power difference is there between the force II and just welding in some flows(I believe force II is 3 chambers right?)With some cat4Ward shortys(dyno proven at around 9RWHP), the Dr. Gas non catted X and the Force II catback, how much power should I be expecting from all that...I believe chips like the jet stage II make even more power if you free up the exhaust and intake right?Sorry for all the Qs, but I want to make sure I get the correct parts the first time.Thanks. EDIT: Also I live in Tx, so there is no emmisions here, but will I be able to pass the inspection at like jiffy lube or the shell station for my inspection sticker? This is VERY important...if I have to I will make a dummy on it so it looks like I have a cat LOL.I just dont want to get there and they are like FAILED!!!!!!!!

DR's would be cheaper and easier than midpipe, pullies, gears, t/a...
