Not much.

Ford says 3 gallons, but that's a little optimistic.

I am probably the only person in the world who ran out of gas in an automated car wash because of that stupid light. I was supposed to have 2 gallons left...guess not

5 bucks of gas is cheaper than a new fuel pump

Ahhhhh! You have an 86... My 83's light would come on from about 20-30 miles before it would run out of gas... and it was a gas hog. Atleast 2 gallons.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. You got a lawn mower? If so check to see if there is any gas in the gas can for it, or siphon the gas out of the mower.

Adam, don't feel too bad for him. With all the car cleaning he was used to doing, he should have known better. (J/K Mike. You never should have posted anything about your escapades).

when i had the dummy lights and a gas gauge that read, i would estimate the light came on at 5 gallons.

i knew my car/tank very very well and used to drive about 100 miles after the light came on. so it must vary between cars. i never ran out of gas, and my driving was always really consistant.

at least your gauge works, its not fun driving a stroker without a gas gauge, no light, and having no money to put in it at times.

wow we r in pretty similar situations. ive got about an 1/8 tank left and i have to get thru friday with only $10 in my bank account. i get paid every 2 weeks too and my next paycheck should be around 325(not too shabby for a 16yo) my 85 has a light, but it dont come on till it gets very low. ive had the gauge below e several times, but then again when i fill up-it goes way above the f.
