I've found a mustang in Wisconsin, 834 miles away. I'm going to fly out there and then drive it home. About how many times would I have to fill up the car to get home? Anyone know the gas prices around that area and through the states south of that to Georgia?

Hope you got a good deal on it for that kind of a drive. :D Also, MAKE SURE IT WAS NOT DRIVEN IN THE WINTER, IT MAY HAVE RUST. Anyways, driving straight highway at a reasonable speed, you'll probably go about 300 miles before you have to fill up. The low fuel light will come on, and you'll have to put in around 13 to 14 gallons of gas then. So figure 3 stops for gas, around 13 gallons each time...oh heck, just take $100 for gas with you :D

Last spring I made a 1,9000 mile round trip drive to west Texas in my 99GT, the car was fairly heavily loaded down (probably 600 or so pounds total), I averaged around 28 mpg, speeds averaging around 75 mph in east texas and 90mph in west texas. (I had one scare on the drive, in the middle of nowhere in west Texas on I-10, almost no other traffic on the road, I was doing about 95 cruising along and a police car passed me, he was doing about 110-120)

Must have taken the scenic route :D

Really need more details on the car.Year,model,trans,gears,etc. But I think everyone is right with the 3 stop thing(for gas).If you take a woman with you, this thread is irrelevant since you will stop every 30 minutes or so.

No, it was a direct drive

From Orange Texas on the state line on the east side of the state to El Paso at the state line on the west side of the state (both on I-10) is 854 miles, the place I went was about 150 miles east of El Paso and 50 miles off the interstate, I live in Louisiana about 90 miles from Orange.

I drove from Pensacola Florida to Southern Illinois and back (650+ miles one way) and only spent about $100 to $130 in gas round trip. I also drove from Southern Illinois to Norfolk Virginia (876+ miles) and spent about $65 to $70 bucks. I'm going to drive to Southern Illinois and back in a little more than a week w/ my 4.10's. I'll let you know how much that turns out to be.
