I have an 01 GT with just boltons and a tune and its got 263rwhp,303rwtq.
how much hp could i pick up from a electric water pump and 180 deg. thermostat? Is it worth $300 for electric wp? anyone got one?The company claims 12 rwhp from water pump and 2-3rwhp from 180 Tstat.

300 bux for "12hp"? stay away. I like the peace of mind that my belt driven waterpump gives me, theres something about electric WPs that give me chills (what if theres an electrical short?) Also, while a 180 tstat will make your car run cooler, I've never heard anyone say "yeah I put in a 180* Tstat and I dropped a tenth in the 1/4" so I would only buy it if my existing Tstat needed to be replaced

People are buying up Accufab TB/plenums at about $400 for 6-8 rwhp. I'm with you on the chills. I'm a little leary of it failing.

yeah seriously... if i had 400 bux on me right now I'd put in some 4.10s and it would be a heck of a lot better than anything a TB/plenum or water pump could do for the same price

My car runs much better when its warmer. It loves 75-80 degree weather for some reason. It doesnt like the cold.

I could probably do the electric water pump but I'd be very paranoid about it failing. I'd be checking that thing daily for the first month or so.

Dude if you got the money and that's what you want to do. Go for it,electric water pumps are awesome, not only will they save power but help with cooling to. I also don't trust electronics so keep an eye on that guage for the first bit.

Why is everyone so scared about electric water pumps? Don't you realize you have an electric fuel pump in you car?

My question would be on how long it would last. If it only goes for a year let's say then it wouldn't be worth it.

if my electric fuel pump cuts out, my car stalls. if my electric water pump fails, my engine melts.

Yeah, but don't you look at your temperature gauge? Have you had a mechanical water pump fail?

yeah i look at my temp gauge but im more focused on the road when im driving. and no i havent had a mechanical water pump fail. i was just making the point that comparing the fuel pump and water pump is not comparing apples to apples

If your PCM screws up, there could be even more problems.

If my mechanical water pump locks up or comes apart, I'll hear it or my temp gauge will rise. If my electric fuel pump gives up under 10psi of boost, my engine gets creamed.

Those seem like pretty good numbers too, BTW, for the mods you have.
