Hey guys, The front half of my car was painted three years ago when my brother got in a small accident (bumper cover and headlights replaced) Anyways, 3 years later is looks like a two tone car with the horribly faded stock 16 year old single stage in the back and decent looking base/clear on the front. I want to just get a quick and cheap paint job just to last a couple years and make the thing at least look presentable. Im thinking either a maaco cheepo paint job or just find a small body shop to do a quick job. How much paint would i need to do the whole car with two base coats and one clear? Would i need two base coats if i put the same color on? Would i be better off (cheaper) to put single stage back on it? I really dont care about a serious paint job right now...im more concerned with making the car run right and look presentable? Any help of guidance would be appreciated...i dont know much about paint/body work.

Also there are three small rust areas that must be dealt with...one by where the wing meets the hatch, and one small spot on either rear wheel well! thanks agian!

The color is going to set the price.Red's and Browns are more then Black. You need to buy a good paint. Why waste $$$.

It would be better to pay a little more and do it right the first time. If you go the cheap Maaco route, you'll probably be doing it all over again in 3-4 years.

i know that i will be doing it over again in 4-5 years or so...But the problem is that i dont have 3k for a real nice paint job right now, nor do i need a paint job like that. The car has a couple rust spots that need to be patched up before they get any worse and then the thing just needs to be sealed so it wont rust any more. I will do a better paint job down the road and i will probably change colors at that time...but for now it needs to be cheap and stay red! Thanks for the input though
