well it seems like there is no way around making that much power without major modifications to the body which i'm not really comfortable with doing on this car because of its condition. I was ok with some modification, but it sounds like it would need substantial work.
as far as those saying that much hp on the street is too much....I daily drive a supercharged 67 camaro that has 550 horse, so i'm familiar with what its like to have that much power....and I still want more. A great thing with the turbo is that it wasnt going to be at 1000hp all the time, but only when the boost was turned up. It would have probably stayed below the 1000hp most of the time, but i still would have ended up trashing the car.
now that I think about it i'm thinking of going with a 351w base motor since the blocks are more durable than the 302 base blocks and save money on not having to buy a dart block and keep the hp down to around 600ish and avoid the holeshots
