I am considering either a timing adjuster or a predator to get a few more ponies, but considering the Cobras are already setup for premium fuel...Is there really much power left to be had in timing advance? I already have some underdrive pulleys on order and I am looking for another easy bolt on for some power. Springs and gears are going on next spring so I guess the predator would be nice for that instead of a speedcal too, but for $340 I'd like to see some SOTP power out of it too.
Anyone have any input.

i have the predator tuner in my car. i didnt notice much difference in power, but i did not mess with the timing advance (i'm not that smart)... i just used it for speedo cal, traction control disable, and to del the rear 02s in my gt... i think it is a good investment if u ask me.

Thanks

Thanks for the input on the Pred. From what I have read, it seems like most of the performance increase from it on a N/A car is found by the "spark increase" or timing advance feature. I just haven't been able to find a straight answer as far as how much power there is to be had. I mean is a T/A or Predator timing advance worth 10hp on a Cobra? ... 5? less? Seems like the GTs benifit much more from these kind of mods because they are factory tuned for 87 octane. Just wondering exactly how much (or how little) we are talking.

I have the Pred for my Cobra, I LOVE it !

I don't look for peak numbers.

I tweaked my timing for the local fuel.

On my car the MPG went up, runs smoother, does not ping any more.

So for some reason my was a dog tune from the factory.

Best part is the data loggging and a scan tool for my three rides. (paid for itself already)

Over all a great scan tool and TC shut off Flasher for $350 !
