They are getting expensive, but so is every other "nice" car. The dealership where I work also sells Dodge/Chrysler. A lightly optioned Charger R/T stickers for $32K. V6 Mustangs are a good value. I drive one, and I love it. Ther're great with a manual tranny.
They are taking orders for 07's now so may want to jump on that. I bought my 06 GT in 9/05 for 500 below MSRP because I was a "student". Also, if you hint to the sales man that you may want an extended warranty they may go down. They will discount the "upfront" price if they think they'll make money on the Back-end with accessories and warranties etc but of course don't do it. Also never, never , never do financing through the dealership's finance guy. Although they "say" they are getting you the best rate there is nothing illegal about the dealership finance guy "adding" interest to the quote they get from a bank. The guy in the other post who went through a Credit Union was smart. usually best rates. I would never pay above MSRP though. Read at www.edmunds.com for more info though

Now a Charger would be one ugly car for any price !
Regardless off talk of the best economy in ever so many
years, my bet is on a recession. I would hold out for better than $2K off on V6 and $3k off on V8. If the econmy does stay up, and gas stays up the gas prices alone will trim Mustang pricing. Falling economy, gas prices lower, but so
do the car prices. Better prices, six months to a years time.
