my car has LTs and a sct 93 octane tune, and the best time ive been able to run is 13.9@101(g-tech) with a 2.2 60'. i have recently installed a set of sportlines and 4.10s now i cant do better than 14.5 lol. i have a set of 315/35-17 NT555rs that i havent had time to get mounted yet, do you guys think those would get me back into the 13s?!?

hell yea they will help they will really improve your 60' times i run 245/45/17 nittos and i went from a 2.1 60' time to a best of a 1.75 with just the switch of the tires. that will keep you well in the 13's specially with the 4.10's :D

thats want i wanted to hear! lol, i was really worried since my time dropped so much. 6 tenths seems like alot to gain from just a tire change but i hope you're right. :)

I'm sure the tires will help, but in order to tell if the tires are the problem, you need to look at the 60's, not just the E.T. Weather could cause a huge difference in E.T.s. I'd be willing to bet that an identical car on a 45 degree low humidity day, versus a 95 degree high humidity day could be half a second or more difference.

i was kinda thinking about that, but when i went 13.9 it was in the 70s, and on my 14.5 it was like 50-60, have no idea about the humidity though. also forgot to mention when i did the 13.9 my low fuel light was on, and when i did my last run i had about 5/8s of a tank, would that make a big difference?

on the 13.9 it was 2.235 and on the 14.5 it was like 2.4xx, but my 0-60 time dropped by like 7 tenths. i had traction problems in first and second, but on the 13.9 i had no tirespin whatsoever, im just kinda worried because my car doesnt seem too pull any harder in 2nd or 3rd with 4.10s maybe i just forgot what 3.27s felt like:shrug:

Your car should run better in cooler weather but your not going anywhere off the line with your pedal to the floor spinning. With the nittos you should be able to get atleast a 1.9 60ft and get you back into the 13's. The reason it did worse is probably because you switched to 4.10s and stayed with street tires and need to adjust how you leave off the line. It takes time and practice and knowing what you car does. Lowering springs dont help you 60 ft time either.

if you drop the 2.4 to a 1.9 your ET will drop more than .5, Id guess et will drop .75, which would put you at a 13.75 at 101 or 102. work on your powershifts and should be able to rip a 13.25 at 102.

 @ believing what the g-tech says.

But yes, the tires should make a nice difference. Be sure to get them nice and hot. Unlike the other drag radials, you need a long smokey burnout.

lol yea ive heard alot of good things about them(g-tech), never been to a track before to really test it out though, but i want to:D

as for the tires, i cant wait to try them out. ive actually gotten a better 60' time according to my g-tech with my 245/45-17 kumho spt than the 315-35/17 sumitomo LOL

For each .10 you shave from your 60 foot, it will reduce your 1/4 mile ET by roughly .20. On my very first run at the track with the Nitto 555R's, I cut a 2.02 60 foot time (94 degrees, 90% humidity, I think the DA was something ridiculous like 5500) with an automatic transmission and no stall. Best so far is 1.92. With 4.10's and a nice long burnout - which these tires require - you should cut 1.7's all day long if you've got the driver mod.

In my experience, the G-tech was just inaccurate and inconsistent. It was very sensitive to being zeroed on level ground. Then, if you had it zeroed well, it was inconsistent as you made the runs, either above or below and depending on slight slopes in the road. It always indicated ~2-3 mph fast for a 100mph car.

Besides those points, the surface at the track is much different from anything you'd find on the street. Certain roads can be much stickier than the street, particularly if it was just paved. It's just a whole 'nuther experience actually running at the track and making real passes. You are always slower at the track than you think you should be, until you get a whole lot of seat time and experience.

lol im starting to think the g-tech is inconsistent too, but might also be my car too. i got the tires put on today. and the best i can do on the g-tech is 14.4@99 with a 2.226 60', i had the tire pressure dropped to like 16psi and there was no tirespin but my car seems to have lost some power, use to accelerate between 80-100 alot faster with 3.27s, maybe because the ratio of 4th and 4.10s is higher than 3.27s in 3rd. but my car has been throwing these same codes for a while now, codes having to do with fuel being lean on the left bank, and lack of signal from the o2 sensor, could this be part of my problem?
