I'm going wingless. About how much will it cost to have the holes filled and trunk painted? Also has anyone taken the side scoops off filled in the holes and paint to match the car?

not sure about the side-scoops. But you know, you can fill the holes in your trunk lid with little white or black plastic plugs from home depot...hardly noticable...for like 5$

I just saw a pic of someone taking the scoops off and having it filled. It looked really good , now if I can just remember where I saw it at.

I have taken the wing off before but the paint is bad underneath.

bad as in dirty or bad as in clear is peeling?

try giving it a claybar and a buff before dropping some cash on a respray

if youre going to spend the money for someone to take the time to do the job right, there will be extra materials left over for them to do a few other parts id imagine. a pint of base goes pretty far

I'm going through the same dilemma.

I am actually thinking about masking off around the holes VERY well, filling them with bondo, sanding them really smooth and just hitting them with touchup paint. The area that the wing sat over is so bad on my car anyway that I don't care about it being perfect. If it looks good from a foot or three away I'm happy.

Quote is $600 to do the trunk lid and paint in front of my hood scoop. If I wanted the side scoops smoothed out and painted I would be paying $2,100 for everything. So I'm going to skip the side scoops.

I thought I saw a picture awhile back of side scoops removed - there were very large holes / openings there. I think someone was going to remove the scoops but was discouraged after seeing the large holes, and got Bullitt scoops instead.

Bullitts are essentially scoop deletes anyway. Im not so sure how iit would look minus the scoops. hmm.

Glad to see you have opted to go wingless, scupking. Always thought your car would look even better that way. I believe I saw you on jeepforum in the XJ section under the same name, by the way. Interesting how mustangs/jeeps seem to go hand in hand haha.
