I have been toying with the idea of doing a headswap, cams, intake and eventually forced induction of some sort. My engine has 84,000 on the clock. It runs flawlessly. I have put nitrous through with no problems. Is it time to consider a shortblock as well? Whats the life expectancy on a 98 Mod Motor? If its time for a shortblock what would you all recommend? Any good reliable input would be appreciated. Please include links if possible. Thanks in advance.

Well my 96 just passed 80K on the ticker and runs great when it's got a tune on it, lol. This next week I will be doing compression checks and new plugs and such just to check it out (it's got a bit of a miss) but it runs great.

well i guess you are right. If i blow out the bottom end, i can always re-use all the new parts i plan to put on. Afterall i am only good for 3,000 miles or less a year. So if i keep up at this pace, in 2 years i'll have 90k. Big woop. lol. Thanks for your help!

I dont get the impression he wants to go straight for a supercharger. That would mean building a motor for a supercharger would be out because his n/a performance would suffer quite a bit. blower cams and lower compression can make a n/a dog.
