My parent and I have had this 68 sitting in our shop for as long as I can remember and havent had a chance to work on it much do to our other car projects. I was wondering if anyone know the actual rarity of this car. I know it has a certain degree. Anymore info would be great thanks!

1968 Mustang Coupe
Gulfstream Aqua
Deluxe Parchment Comfortweave interior
Factory in-dash air (first year)
Over Head console
Parchment vinyl top
C-code 289 2v
C4 trans
2.79 open rear-end
Chrome Styled Steel wheels

If you need anything more please let me know. But if anyone knows the production numbers on any of those options I would love it thanks!!

Donsbad, a C-code coupe isn't particularly "rare" but it sounds like a really nice car, especially with some excellent factory options and a beautiful interior/paint/vinyl top combination.

So in answer to your question, IMHO it's not rare but it's desirable.

I see....but I found out that there was only 9,009 total Deluxe coupes in 1968. Is that not a small number? I thought there were like 233,000 something regular coupes?

Don, be happy you have the ability to get a report, those of us with '65-'66 cars can't get them. BTW, '67 was the first year of in dash A/C, my buddy's '67 coupe has it. The overhead console is a nice touch, does it not have the floor console? Aqua with a Parchment top sounds like a rare color combo to me.

My '65 coupe is a A-code car with disc brakes, factory under dash air, bench seat, 3-speed, Honey Gold, black vinyl top. Just the bench seat makes it 1 of about 14,000, but with the other options, I'll bet its way less, but even if its 1 of 1, it's not going to make it that much more valuable.

BTW, what part of Oklahoma are you/car in? You said college, which one?

"Rare" as in there were only 200 made with a specifc combo does not make it really rare in the bigger sense. My car came with a 4v289, silver mist color, and a front bench seat. Probably making it like one of 500 or so with that combo. I have a lot of other nice options. Vinyl top, rocker panel molding, delux seatbelts power steering, etc. So yeah, "rare" and "rare worth money" are 2 different things. BUT thats OK, you got a good car to start with there. Factory AC, V8, lots of good options. A lot of people want to add all the stuff you have to start with!

Cool, my wife and several of my friends went to SWOSU, my wife is from Arapaho and we drive thru Weatherford often to see her folks. One of my co-worker's son Sean goes to SWOSU, drive a '68 Firebird that's in bad need of a paint job and some body work. Has some nice restored rally wheels on it and a 400 Poncho motor under the hood. I've been to some FFW events, but missed the NMRA ones. I go to WFC about year though (missed 1 and 5). I try to get down to TVRP every so often, rented the track this past Memorial Day weekend and put on the 2004 FE Nats which was kind of fun, but a lot of work.

67's were the first year with in-dash AC.

Like everyone said, not rare by any means, but definitely good to have. Enjoy.
