Ok so this is the first car I have had w/ leather.
Is something I should use on the seats like a scotch guard b4 i turn my kids loose in there?
Should I protect all the carpeting w/ anthing specific?
I checked the shine posts but didn't have much luck.
I figured I would ask here as it gets more trafic.

Thanks, Mike

Precious little of your interior is actually leather. If you have a GT, just the perforated area of the front seats is leather, the rest of the front seat and the entire back seat is vinyl. But it gets worse. The leather they use in car seats is coated with vinyl so UV light doesn’t destroy it, your rear end is actually caressed in nothing but plastic. Leather’s advantage is in that it provides an insulating backing to vinyl so it doesn’t feel so cold in the winter or hot in the summer.

All that leather stuff they sell works great on saddles and harness, but it ain’t gonna help your seats much.

Before that cosmetic stuff, you need to tint your windows, and use a reflective foil type window shade to keep the sun off the dash and seats.

Well I learnt the hard way...Don't let your kids hold the buffalo wings while in your car. even with the container closed they still spilt the frickin oil off the top into my seat and let me tell you it ain't easy to get oil out of a seat.

Your dealer should offer a protectant you can add to the interior. It has a 5 year warranty against spills and other things. I got mine as part of the PROCOAT package which also adds a protectant to the exterior paint. I believe you can buy them individually.
