how to adj trunk lid tursion bar

Can anyone tell me how to adj a trunk lid tursion bar for a 1967 mustang fastback with a single tursion bar? It looks to me that I may have to sacrifice a digit or to! Im hoping there is a tool or a trick that is safe and easy. Any and all help will be appreciated.

I'm not sure that there is a way that is safe and easy.

There is no adjustment on the 67 fastback decklid torsion bar.
