What are my options on changing the gear ration in the factory computer on a 2002 GT? Is there a programmer that can do it with out storing the factory tune? Basically I just want to change the gear ration and not have to buy a tuner.

I can't get it up......ok that didn't sound right.

The only options you have is either an ECU flash, which can be done with either a hand help programmer like the Hypertech programer or by a computer programer at a dyno shop. Or, you can use a sport chip. I had my computer custom programed by someone with a lap top w/ superchips microtuner package. The guy also knew what he was doing so be sure if you go the route I did that the person who's doing the programing knows what they're doing as well.

If your 02 GT has a manual transmission you can use a SpeedCal device sold by Brothers Performance or Dallas Mustang

True. I forgot about this. If what he has is a manual transmission, then a speedcal is all he needs.
