How to clean taillights

I couldn't find that thread on what to use to clean the taillights. I am going to paint the bezels and i want to clean the taillights too. What was it and where can I get it.

There is no bezel on the 94-95 tail lights. The stripes are painted onto the taillight's reflector.

If you're talking about polishing up the lenses use some Mother's w/ the red label/white can. They will be ruby red like a mofo when youre done.

Use a 1000 or higher and wet sand...You'll get a lot of milky white hazing. At that point, you use the Mother's OR I use Turtle Wax polishing compound. You apply, and dont be afraid to use some good ole fashion elbow grease to remove it.

Some wax & my orbital buffer took care of the lens portion of the taillights. I removed them, taped them off, and sprayed some semi-flat black spraypaint on them.

Came out great!

But if you can get access to your factory paint color, definately go that route! That would look UBER SWEET!!!! I wish I did that when I did it!

Oh, when masking the lenses, just put a 2" piece of masking tape & cover the lens. It will cover the bezel as well. Then take a razor blade, and run it inbetween the light and the bezel. Makes for fast & easy masking!
