I picked up a 351W (free) and I am pulling it apart, how can I tell whether it is a roller block or not?

What is the casting #? I think all the roller blocks are F4TE.

There will be a sheetmetal "spider" in the lifter valley held down with two screws in the center of the valley. Also, the blocks are indeed F4 castings.

shelby and tyler are right. Some blocks are roller, but don't come with roller lifters. Sgould find if nothin elde, hole in the lifter valley that a valve cover bolt will fit
