I don't have 100,000 miles yet, but my car is missing. I'm going to change the Denso plugs (I didn't gap those oops) I have it in now for Motorcraft xxxxpm/w (the platinum ones).

I will be using bullittarchive.com for a guide :nice:.

I bought mine pre-gapped at .054.

If you want to gap them yourself parts stores will sell a plug gapper, its just a little tool, not too hard to figure out.

I bought Autolite Coppers, they are like a quarter the price of some of the friggin platinums.

Go to an Ace Hardware and probably at the counter they sell this little circle that goes on a key-ring. Its a spark plug-gap adjuster. U just put the tool between the sparkplug tips and slide the tool around in a circle. The more u turn the tool the wider it gaps the plugs. Usually between .00 and 1.00. So if the stang requires .54, you'll obviously spin the tool about half way.

The tool is probably like $1

Um no... The tool you refer to only measures gap it is not meant to adjust by forcing it between the tips. That is a good way to destroy the plug as the center tip is very fragile and easily cracked.

OOOh i know what you're thinking of, no not that. I meant the circular gapper tool, with the prongs that comes out with designated measurements (for lack of a better description). Yeah should have clarified better

But honestly i've used both, never had a problem with either

Here is what a spark plug gap tool looks like...

As for buying pregapped plugs, sorry fella's they don't make them.
Always check your gap on the spark plugs. They might be close or right on, but more then likely they are not.

I know somebody will mouth off and say "Well mine were dead on", well lucky you. Never happens to me, or the shops I sell to.

Plugs are made to fit multiple applications, so don't trust the gap!

BTW Im a partsman and have been for 17 years....:nice:

SPARKPLUG CAUTION

Of course we must be careful in removing and installing plugs, especially on the 2002 GT. Consumer reports spoke about this, really want to be careful with the threads so that they do not strip, just want to pass it on.
