I want to get my car to get the most out of my stock 4.6. All my freinds start with the motor. I want to start with some struts, springs, control arms. I know my car can go faster like it is. My question is I dont know what kind I need. I dont know the difference between 90/10 or 70/30. Do I need adj. lower and upper control arms? I dont want to go as far as tubular K member. Can somebody help me out please. I have a 4:10 gear cobra T45 and a exaust. Motor is stock. Thanks_Lee

read up at maximum motorsports page. If you can afford it, buy one of thier box kits, depending on if you hit the twisty's or run the straight line. Also try stangsuspension they have some good prices and packages.
To answer your questions specifically, we need to know what you plan on doing with your car, like spirited off ramp type driving, drag racing or auto x. Then let's talk budget. In general, most people don't suggest upper control arms or if you must get uppers, FRPP ones. I personally suggest MM LCA's. But again we need to know if you drag race, road race or just drive like you stole it.
How much drop are you looking for in your springs?
I'm no suspension expert but others will chime in and could help you more if you list more about what your plans for your car are, driving habits and budget.

1/8 mile car.There two tracks close to home. All the stangs Ive had in the past spun through the 60 foot mark. I want to hook and go. I want to start this 4.6 build with suspencion first. Thanks for any info.
Put an air bag in the right rear spring to pre load the suspension($30.00 on ebay). Get some good upper and lower control arms(about $250.00). If you drive it don't get the ones with sprical bushings. Invest in some sub-frame connectors(about $100.00). 70/30 are for the street, 90/10 are for drag only. get some 50/50 shocks for the rear. These will help you hook up and not break the bank.

A few years ago when I did a rebuild of my 02/gt, I had MM build be a custom set of drag springs that would lower the car about 1.5" and still allow the rear to squat hard. They worked fine and I added BMR double adjustable uppers/lwr c-amrs and their adjustable sway bar along with agx struts/shocks. This combo work hard and the DR's hooked hard as well. I was running a 3200 stall, 4:10's, full exhaust and intake mods and dropped about 100lbs off the car. It was pretty quick for what it was and suspension is the key, then power last IMHO.

Springs: Drag launch kit
Struts and shocks: any type of adjustables...spend big money here.
LCA's and UCA's: Mega Bite Jr's adjustables. The uppers allow you to adjust pinion angle which helps dramatically in improving traction. Put the LCA's on the upper mounting bolt hole, not the lower. It will really hook on the upper mount hole.
Subframes: Any kind really...and weld them in.
Sway bar: remove them for track duty.
Quad Shocks: Removing them allows the car to squat down more, but some have had trouble with traction and wheel hop even WITH good LCA's and UCA's and others have not had trouble.
Tires: M/T E/T Streets, or BFG Drag Radial. Don't waste your time with Nitto's with this type of suspension.
Clutch: CFDX, Spec Stage III
Battery: Relocate it to the trunk. They are heavy and this will make a difference, because every bit helps.
There was a guy on here once...years ago, with an 01-02 GT and he got the wheels off the ground and ran 12's with a stock 4.6L engine....NO MODS!!! Good luck and keep practicing those launches.

I have the Maxium Motorsports grip in a box, best thing you could ever do if you wanna max out your suspension. Its the way to go, (cost as much as a KB) but you can have all the HP in the world and crap suspension setup and you aint going nowere..... start with the suspension and work your way to the engine !
