How to install Autometer Electric Oill Pressure Gauge?

I have the oil pressure guage in my car, its easy. It comes with a new sending unit,so you remove the old sending unit out of the block located next to the oil filter. Run a wire to where your guage will be mounted, then you need a 12 volt switched lead, and a ground. If you are running the lights for the guages too then you can splice into the headlamp switch for the lights. good luck and they look awesome when its done.

you can run both 12 volt wires (powering the gauges) from one source. i use a 3 amp fuse for 2 gauges, which is probably a bit of overkill - i dont think the gauges use 36 watts worth of juice. LOL).

you can use the ISO fuse (13, IIRC) for dimming. just use a fuse tap on the dead side of the oem fuse. i use a 1 amp fuse on that.

get a tee fitting and some adapters for your oil pressure gauge if you want to retain the stocker.

you can relocate the stock water sender to the rear of the lower intake, to retain its function (though that port is not as accurate as up front. but then the stock gauge is not too accurate to start with).

good luck and enjoy.

bump...still need to know where 2 get tee fitting :nice:

I am not sure, but I used brass fittings from Lowes for my Water Temp., so maybe the same can be used for oil.

for the Tee, two options. one of which you already listed. i would take all your fittings with you, into the store, and match stuff up. i had to put a 1.5" extension pipe on the 'hex' tube (that the oem oil sender screws into), so that my two electrical senders would have clearance.

option two is to hit the parts store. with the gauges they sell, they sell a Tee fitting. it is normally all 1/8" female fittings in the Tee. might need to get some 1/8 to 1/4 fittings at the home store - like i said, piece it all together.

good luck.
